Why would you want to be a weasel?

My company name is Weasel Design. People ask me "why a weasel?"

Good advertising means showing your potential customers something they hadn't thought about with respect to your product or service. It's all about letting them see you in a different perspective, in a way that separates you from your competition. It's about finding your unique selling point.

Take the weasel for example. Here is an animal that is badly maligned and bears the brunt of a negative stereotype.

So we looked at the weasel from a fresh perspective and found that the attributes that gave the weasel its bad reputation in nature are generally things we would view as positive traits in human beings.

Weasels are resourceful mammals known for their innovative methods and wily, tenacious spirits. Weasels are determined creatures who are not intimidated by anyone no matter what their size. They'll take on any challenge.

Those sounded like positive attributes to us. So much so that we named our company after the weasel.

Tell me your marketing nightmares

My name is Mike and I do copywriting, advertising, branding... basically the whole marketing gamut. I also teach and lecture on the topic, and I am always looking for amusing anecdotes on marketing from first hand experience. What are your experiences?

Feel free to introduce yourself too if you like.
Cheers!
Mike.
